I have taken down my Wordpress site and am working on a Flash based site.
I dabbled in Wordpress and found it not my favorite. After being very frustrated with the results of my Wordpress site, I started talking to other photographers and found something I liked.
I think you will like it, at least I will.
Goodbye Wordpress and your slow site.
